House Rules
The "House Rules" are an extension of the lease contract.
It is a list of safety regulations and hygiene regulations and agreements of internal order.
It is also a manual for all residents to live together without conflict. Despite all the good intentions of all residents to treat each other fairly, it is better that some issues are clearly stated and agreed to avoid discussions and conflict situations.
The house rules determine, among other things:
- the proper use of the kitchens, showers and toilets
- the rules regarding household waste
- that all student houses are 100% smoke-free
- that no pets are allowed
- candles of all types and all appliances with an open flame are prohibited

Cleaning

All common areas such as corridors, kitchens, toilets, shower rooms, stairs, elevator, etc. are cleaned by a cleaning lady on a weekly basis.

Only the private rooms of the students have to be cleaned by the students themselves. Necessary tools and products are therefore at the disposal of the tenants.

Kitchen
The kitchens are well equipped with kitchen ware.
Cookware, tableware and cutlery are available.

Laundry

In Kortrijk, students do their laundry in the laundries that can be found in every neighborhood of the city. Laundry shops are no further than 200 meters away.

Bedding

The student rooms have single beds with slatted bases. (2m x 90cm).
Belgian students provide their own mattress, pillow, duvet and bed linen.
For international students who arrive by plane, we also provide a mattress and we can temporarily lend a package of bed linen until they have been able to buy their own set of bed linen in Kortrijk. There are several specialized shops in Kortrijk for cheap and good quality bedding.
